On This Day – May 10 – 150 Years ago

 The Last Spike was driven at Promontory Summit, Utah.

It was on this day, May 10, 1869, that Union Pacific Railroad and the Central Pacific Railroad met at Promontory Summit, Utah.  The golden spikes were driven into the rails to signify the completion of the first transcontinental railroad.
